Edmonton's Hottest Mom Contest

May 12, 2007

This was the first time back for me at Cowboys on the west end of the city and what a night to check out the bar. Before I get to the events of the night let's talk a little bit about the bar. The layout of the bar is essentially in 2 parts, the main bar area where the dance floor is located and then there is the lounge area where there are a few booths, some couches, fireplace and televisions. Also for the smokers out there that like to head out to the night clubs there is a nice large patio area where they can go and not feel boxed in. Anyways onto the events of the night.

I got there pretty early as usual, around 8:30, as the bar was just opening. Already there were a few people there finding their table, picking up drinks, etc... I wasn't too suprised of people showing up early on this evening as Cowboys was hosting their "Edmonton's hottest mom" contest. This was their 5th annual hottest mom contest and from the looks of it early on it was going to be a good one. While I waited I for things to really get going I got a chance to visit with some of the bar staff. Everyone I talked to seemed to be all very friendly which made the evening go quickly. Luckily as well that night I got to spend time with my beautiful guest Melissa, a hot mom of 2 beautiful girls, I wanted her to come out with me this evening and I was more than happy to have her at my side.

Around 9:30 before anything else really got going there was a quick line dance lesson taught by Wanda Spicer. For those of you who are beginners to any type of country dance or line dance this is the perfect place to come out. Tonights line dance was the electric slide and everyone seemed to pick up on it really quick.

Once the lessons were over the dance floor opened up for a bit of country dance, until the main event started. It was around 10:15 or so when they halted dancing, raised the stage and the big event began. Hosted and MC'd by Cowboy's own, Dave, the 14 contestants struted their stuff in 3 rounds, evening wear, sports wear and the very popular swimwear. Everyone had lots of fun with even some of the mom's having their own cheering sections. Overall the contest was a big success with plenty of beautiful women.

After the contest was over the dance floor opened up again to a mix of country and a top 40/Hip Hop dance music. I stuck around for awhile longer but finally decided to call it a night at around 12:30 or so. I had lots of fun at the bar, it was definitely a great evening. I want to thank Dave and Tahnee and all the other Cowboys staff for all your hospitality and I look forward to seeing you all soon.
