Well here we are again at Wild West Saloon for another wednesday night at the club. I arrived again around 8:00 pm and again the bar was already getting pretty busy. This evening was week 4 in the beginners dance lessons for 2-step. As it was last week there were easily 30 or more couples out to learn some country dance. There were a few single individuals, including myself, but Wanda (dance instructor) made sure that everybody had a partner.
Once the lessons started up we all quickly went through all the dance moves that had been worked on last week and previous weeks. With that said Wanda and Dwayne did a great job making those who were still having some problems feel like they weren't being left behind. The dance lesson lasted about an hour and a half and was lots of fun with good instruction and lots of laughs.
After the 2-step lessons were done we took a 3 or 4 song break and preceeded to learn a line dance. It was an interesting dance but unfortunately I couldn't get my brain (or my feet) wrapped around the dance. Although myself and a few others braved the dance floor to give it a try.
To finish off the night, the band for this week, Mark Lorenz, took the stage and kept the bar and the dance floor busy. Again a very enjoyable evening, especially for a wednesday night. I'll be back to the Wild West next week as Wanda will be teaching a different dance style, West Coast Swing. Again if anyone has any further comments about the evening please feel free to email me and let me know. |
